http://blog.websterwebart.com/ - Blog of Mark Webster, whose art is painting and he has shown his work in galleries around the United States. Truly an inspiration and worth the few minutes to take a look at his blog.

http://lolipintorartecollage.blogspot.com/ - To be honest, this blog is entirely in Spanish and I have no idea what they're talking about, but the artwork found on this blog was exquisite.

http://sonhosdarteblog.blogspot.com/ - This lady is a little quirky, a little crazy, but it makes her blog completely intoxicating. It's hard to take it all in, but when you take some time you'll realize maybe her absurdness is really pure genius.

http://artonpaper-delilah.blogspot.com/ - This lady is pretty deep, but very optimistic which I like. I enjoy reading the positives in people, rather than why art brings out one's inner demon. Too often art seems to reflect the bad side, rather than the good.

Photographers I Adore

Marcel Berlanger is completely different from any photographer I've seen. His images are purely abstract, and he takes ordinary objects and makes them completely incomprehensible. Yet oddly enough they're manipulated to the extreme but produce quite beautiful images to lay one's eyes upon. His work stands out above the rest and will, without a doubt, be remembered for being different.

Chris Simpson, another

new photographer I'm going to fall in love with this year, shoots ordinary objects under beautiful lighting and in extreme form. He knows how to capture a photograph and add flare to it that makes it not so obvious, but enhances it enough to be quite stunning, which is similar to Loretta but with different color schemes and different levels of depth. His images are very abstract, which makes them seem like a rare gem.

Loretta Lux, a photographer we learned about in class, immediately caught my eye as someone who knows how to turn the ordinary extraordinary, without it being remotely obvious. Her work is brilliant, with beautiful coloring and to simply put it, it's very pure. I think she stumbled upon a niche form of photographing individuals that puts her above anyone else I've seen.

Lastly, I want to bring attention to Alex Wein. He shoots mostly in black and white, which reduces the ability to use color for enhancement, but all his photographs seem to be related towards reality, in a simple and beautiful way. He catches individuals at their purest form, much like candid shots, but done so in a intelligent manner. They're odd, different and conceptual. His work is by far my favorite, and I would love to have any of my work be resembled by his. Brilliant.
